We have been in the US for 4 months. Wow the time is moving fast.
I still take a step backwards and forwards again and try not laugh when people ask me if I am English. Two days ago I was trying to find helmets for myself and the kids for ice skating. Yes over kill but we must obey the rules. A friend told me you can get them cheaper from Costco. Everyone in their big cars buying big quantities. I needed to find out how much it costs to get a Costco card so I asked the security at the door. Yes not the brightest move. He started speaking French to me. No way this guy must be smoking his socks - FRENCH. He honestly thought I was French. Sorry Manu. My friend Jude and her husband have moved to France. Yes the real France.
Now to top it off I was at Trader Joe's and the cashier asked me if I was from Belgium. I had to cross the leg because I nearly wet myself with laughter. Now I have to be polite because I go to Trader Joe's regularly and don't want unpleasant vibes. BELGIUM.
Well they do say South Africa is the rainbow nation. Not sure how they will feel about having their accent compared to English, French, Belgium.
All in a days fun.
Tuesday night it's PJ's and bedtime stories at the library. We take the kids to the library at 7.00pm and they go there with a cuddly toys and a fantastic librarian reads the kids a story and then they get to show off their cuddly toys and watch 15 min film. Kara was a pain and running around the library like a mad lady. She might be to old for it. A nice evening.
Well my ice skating lessons were cancelled due to rain. I have all the kits and ready to rock and roll. Kids start on Saturday.
Our biltong cupboard is king and we are having delicious biltong. It worked and tastes fantastic.
Lots of love
