I had a fantastic birthday. Leon has always been good to me over the years, so I have a real birthday and a proper Christmas. This year I wanted a scooter for my birthday. Perry has one and I took it for a test ride and it was great fun. Now that the kids are older, it's the perfect opportunity to get the same toys and play. Hopefully no more pushing the kids in swings. That is so boring and a thing of the past. Not really.
We took the scooters down to beach for a test run. Like my friend Marshal said after he played ice hockey after a long time of retirement (not sure if he would like me saying retirement) the kids now days are stronger and faster. I really had to move the legs to get a head start on Victoria. I have to use both legs else the bum cheeks will be uneven. As if they were ever even. To hear the squeal of the kids while we play and race together is a small thing but brings real happiness to the ears. I had to share my new toy with Leon which is red of course so it can go fast. i recon we might be a family of four with scooters and disrupt the whole of central park and New York for that matter.
My American friend Tracy invited us around for a few drinks before we had to face our families. She is crazy but so much fun. Met some great people. Still amazes me the people we meet. The one lady Gill is an agent for actors. What are the chances of meeting someone like that. She travels a lot to LA but won't live there as it's not a great place to bring up kids. A really down to earth lady. Another neighbour was there with his crazy French poodle. So we had a huge big dog running around the house.
Kara got her knickers into such a knot and was so scared to sleep because Father Christmas was coming into our house. I started getting a bit cross and made all the promises no one was coming into our house. Leon said should we do "a there is no Father Christmas". Shame poor child . So I stomped out and slept in her bed and Leon was left with Kara who fell asleep instantly once in our bed. I was able to lie on my back and tonk up the snoring big time. The little "darlings" were up with the stockings at 5.15am. Victoria ripped all the presents open within 10 mins. Kara took her time and saved some, which made Victoria turn green with envy. No Christmas is a true one without reading instructions and throwing out a few swear words. Victoria got a Lego remote car. Leon was in charge of that one. I dressed dolls and drank champagne.
The usual questions came up as to whether it's right been so far away from family. i miss the interaction between the cousins the most. I had a long chats to Kate my sister which was really special. It was good to chat to the boys too. would love to hold Megan, Kate's new little girl. We chatted to Andre and Megan( Leon's brother) in Australia and we are so hoping they get bitten by the travel bug and come visit us. Kate (sister) and I have decided we are going to meet in Disney land, then fly to Vegas where she will get married then I will look after all the kids while they go on honeymoon. Jaco was laughing so much. The thing is you have to start big and dream just a little. Life would be quite boring if there were not dreams involved. Leon and I are in America so we go big and pass the vibe onto others.
I am so ready to get moving and go and explore this huge big America. Had big plans now that Christmas is over to rock and roll. This weather man sometimes is not always so accurate. He said it would start snowing at 9.00am on Boxing day. No snow. He lied. No he did not and we are still having a huge big snow storm. It keeps falling. We should have about 2 foot by tomorrow. The wind blowing the snow is unbelievable. We saw 40 snow ploughs from 11.00am to 3.00pm this afternoon. Big engines growling, moving snow. These guys mean business. I recon we will be paying to have our driveway cleared at this rate. Not sure if the fancy boots will be tempting on this round.
My Irish friend Perry and her husband Simon were in the sea on Christmas day. Prue madness. i was there to take photos. They did it for the Irish charity GOAL. Still need to look it up.
Merry Christmas to all.
We are well and happy.
Lots of love
