News from St Albans

We have been in St Albans for a week now. I can't tell you how amazing all my friends have been. We have been so spoilt and it honestly feels like we were away on a long holiday and back again. Very little has changed. The people are amazing and so friendly. I am smiling all the time, waving to all the cars at pedestrian crossings, thanking and big grin for everyone who lets us in with traffic. Light and day. The pace is a lot slower , but that's maybe because we don't have a house yet.

I gave the kids 20.00 pounds and they had to choose a menu, buy all the stuff with the 20.00 pounds and cook it. They were amazing and did so well. We had tomato soup, hamburgers, salad and sweets. Things went a big sideways when the sweets came into play. Funny though.

St Albans market which is every Wednesday and Saturday. The veggie and fruit sellers are amazing with their cockney accents. The kids were naughty because lots of slow old people around.

We went to the splash park. The water was so cold. I just sat and read.

I have made contact with Harpenden pool to try get some work. I hope there is something.

We met my fantastic friend Kate in Wheathamstead to play in the river. A very different river to Tracy's one. We still had fun.

Kara and Victoria with Kate's kiddies

Wonderful to see so many people chilling and having fun.

Kara was in her element collecting and very quickly eating fresh black berries

Kate

Aidan and Oliver were teaching Victoria to play football. They think she is pretty cool

Kara used a willow tree branch to swing into the river

All the boys came together to play soccer / football. Victoria was the only girl but in her element.

Friday night so we stepped across the road for a beer and the kids to have a meal. I love marigolds because they remind me of Botswana.

Friday night pub.

The garden in the pub was wonderful. I loved the ornate mirror amongst the pot plants.

Our new car.

Stop and had lunch today at the wicked lady. We sat in the garden which was great.
