Fire Island

When we arrived it was miserable but no stopping the kids. They were off.
I took the kids out of school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We headed out to Fire Island. Fire Island is a 32 mile barrier island off the coast of Long Island. There are no paved roads on the island and no cars are allowed. The only cars on the island are for permanent residents and they can only drive before 9.00am and after 6.00pm. The workers use golf carts. The freedom for the kids was wonderful.

We cycled to dinner and the kids all had head torches on.

This hibiscus reminds me of South Africa
