Our trip to North Carolina to see Caroline was so special. Each photo, each picture on the wall, each piece of furniture had a history with a great story behind. The kids were spoilt rotten. Caroline took the kids to the bead shop, while Leon and I went to the pub for a beer, the piano was put in the lounge for everyone to have a go at chop sticks, we planted, kids racked leaves and of course lots of fun with Marley, a weimaraner and baby of the house. Special gentle Marley. Poor Marley crashed for two days after we left. I felt horrible leaving Caroline as it was a real comfort to be with someone you have know for years, almost a protection from the real world.
Yesterday the weather was still cold and the ground still covered in snow. What to do next? Let's eat, nothing better than having a bit of comfort food. So we used the good old GPS and headed out to Bethel to a roadside diner for a burger and root beer. We drove thirty minutes there, 15 minutues to eat and 30 minutes drive back again. You have to laugh. The drivein was fill with old folks who most probably been coming there for years and years. They almost looked part of the furniture.

Today we headed out to the Peabody museum in New Haven (Yale). The kids wanted to see the dinosaurs and off course run around like mad things. I had a friends two kids as well. The amount of people who ask are those all my kids. I had to laugh because I wanted to bob them on the nose and tell them to mind their business. I can just imagine all the comments Kate and Kate must have had. Then it was a pit stop at Ikea. Just the same. The same old meatballs and chicken tenders. I had salmon, which was delicious, but salmon at Ikea? $17.00 for 5 meals and drinks is not bad going.
So we end of another day feeling great and ready to embrace and celebrate another fantastic day tomorrow. Off course it's also Friday which is great.
So Hey Hey to all you fantastic people.
All my love Heather

Friends at the Peabody Museum. I am fighting with the PC and learning a new programme. I turn the pictures around and then import them and the bloody things stay the wrong way. More learning and fixing to do.
Lots of love
