Easter

The house was so quite after Lucy, Greg and kids left. You always cope and make things great but when you have special people come over and are in your company you tend to let the guard down and just relax. Great friends.

We hit good old Stew Leonard's for an Easter egg hunt. Ridiculous how many people were there with their little people. I kept on saying to the kids I have eggs at home lets go. No they wanted Stew Leonard's Easter eggs. I am sure Greg you are having a good laugh and Emily will side with Kara. They had three police cars there to direct traffic. Madness, what we do for our children.

Debbie, Mark and kids came over for a braai on Good Friday which was great. Leon did wonders on the braai and did skirt steaks in a Chimichurri sauce and chicken kebabs. Mouth watering. Melissa always good to have those fours braais never know what we need to cook.

I had work on Saturday which was fantastic. I do love going. I have an adult which I would move heaven and earth to get her swimming a perfect front crawl. I swim beside her as she has a fear of the deep end. I constantly have to reassure her I am right there. Very challenging but I am really enjoying it. I said to Leon I have a real chance of making a success here and am really trying my best to offer great lessons and professional service. Hopefully it will pay off.

Sunday we went to Perry and Simon's house for a good English / Irish roast. It was great. After a few glasses of red wine I could not understand one word the one Irish guy was saying. A smile always does wonders to move the conversation on. The kids ran around like mad things, laughing. Maybe it was all the Easter eggs. One of the English friends that were there rode for the Queen. Can't remeber all the details, but her was around for Fergies wedding. interesting talking to him.

I am besides myself with excitement for the Royal wedding. I just can't believe I missed been in the UK for such a fantastic occasion. I am having an English party here on Friday. Stacey is staying over on Thursday night. Tracy is coming over at 5.00am for the start of the wedding. The rest of the gang are coming over at about 9.30am for pimms, cucumber sandwiches, sausage rolls if I can find them and scones. Should be a great laugh. Leon has connected the laptop to the TV so we can watch all the English channels. can't miss a thing.

Westport has sprung into spring and the trees are starting to look gorgeous, yellow blooms and the dogwoods are in flower.

Caroline you are right, we are about a month / two months behind you.

sending you all a spring in your step and a great rest of the week.

think about you all often

Much love

Our house is so quite at the moment. Leon took some leave and we had the most wonderful time with Lucy and Greg and the kids. We did lots of eating and the wine was flowing. Nothing better than been with wonderful friends. Thank you so much for coming all the way to see us.

Softball, swimming

We have signed the kids up to play softball this spring. We wanted them to play a team sport and also we are in America, one should play an American sport. So the kids are now kitted out with softball gloves, balls, cleats and helemts are the next purchase. We now have enough helmets to fill our cupboard space with. Bike helmets, ski helmets and now softball helmets. Is there something wrong with this picture? Shortly we will have to wear helmets while driving in a car to school. Business opportunity to develop one helmet for all sports.

Sunday was the first preseason meet for Kara's team, the razors. I was bold over at how much effort everyone had gone to. Balloons all along the field, older kids lining up the younger ones to do warm up exercise, them kids got to meet their coaches and play some games. Then it was pizza on the field with their tem mates. i like team spirit. Kara and victoria make me laugh because they tell me I like everything. positive is good. Kara was so happy. My heart was tickled pink with joy seeing her run and laugh with her fellow team mates. She got her first softball birth mark, which is a grass graze. Looks like she will be getting a few more of those. Kara looked beauiful with rosie cheeks and sparkley eyes. The pictures I have taken are not so good but you will get the idea.

Leon has been fantastic playing with the kids in the garden practicing their catching. So all round good for the family. Leon and I also put on the gloves and play catch in the garden. Good fun.

We are all waiting with great excitemnet for Lucy and Greg to arrive with Emily and Tom tomorrow. Fridge stocked up, car cleaned and ready to party.

Warm up

They organised an Easter egg hunt too

The ladies I have been swimming with are off to swim the YMCA master Nationals this weekend in Ft. Lauderdale. I am loving the swimming. So maybe next year will be me off to swim nationals. I know I can do it but less chatting and more swimming. All the ladies in pink are swimming to remember their previous coach who died of cancer.
